Annual Reminder to Budget Officers & Department Administrators

Budget Officers & Department Administrators,

As we are approaching the end of the fiscal year, I’d like to remind you of a few important matters.

TDR Reconciliations.  Please review your EFR Dashboard to make sure that TDR reconciliations for all periods in the current fiscal year are completed.  Note that we frequently receive requests from internal & external auditors to send TDR Status reports for particular areas.  To review the Dashboard manual, visit

Missing Account Owners or Account Reviewers.  Now is also a good time to double check & assign any missing Account Owners & Reviewers to WhoKeys.  This information is displayed in your EFR Dashboard with appropriate drill-down details.  To review the Dashboard manual, visit

Annual Financial Sub-certification.  Annual FSC submissions for fiscal year 2015 are due in mid-September.  I will send a separate message to Primary Budget Officers with additional information.  This year, there are a few units with org-level Budget Officers or key administrators who are retiring as of June 30th.   If this applies to your org, you may want to consider getting input from them to incorporate into your financial sub-certification submissions.  For more information on Financial Sub-certification, please visit        

Cash Handling Compliance.  Last year’s changes in cash handling control requirements and procedures resulted in units updating their local desktop procedures as well as assigning unique cash handling roles.  If you are not compliant with the new policy, please take action to become compliant.  Units should be aware that at any time, internal or external auditors may visit cash handling units to perform unannounced cash observations or cash counts.  For more information on cash handling compliance, please visit
